Exchange 2000 kom ut i september 2000.
The comments we offer are not because we think GroupWise is better, they are based primarily on the expierience we have had over years of administration. I honestly have been able to tune our GW system to run and repair itself, that is what it was designed to do. I have spent more time administering the Exchange system we put in and it only has 10 or so users on it vs. the 8500+ on my GW system. If you really want to get the decision to get knocked down, come up with an ROI. There isn't one that makes any sense. The day we presented the numbers to our CIO, who was the driving force behind our conversion, he said and I quote "well that sucks. The economics just suck. There isn't any way we can justify these numbers" Stabilitet og kostnader: Novell GroupWise is a stable, secure platform. And this is not due to apathy on the part of Hackers and Virus Writers, this is due to a mature, developed platform that has been tested for years under all types of different loads. Never has there been a single reported day of downtime lost due to a email virus attacking the email server. GroupWise has not gone done, ever, because of an email virus. GroupWise does not require monthly scheduled downtime like a Microsoft Exchange server. The cost of having your entire mail server down for at least one day a month of "scheduled" downtime which is required with MS Exchange is never calculated into the cost of the product. The single part-time GroupWise admin, which has already been mentioned by others, is also seldom considered. Some GroupWise systems have more than 10,000 users and still require a single person to maintain. This cost saving on GroupWise's part is never a consideration.
